This week, Fairlight got an update to version 1.0.1 allowing you to now edit loop settings of Fairlight voices and edit the default instruments. It also got a whole bunch of bug fixes. The ‘Pro’ version, which used to be an in app purchase, has now been separated into it’s own app on the app store.
PianoAngel got a nice little update to version 1.1 which brings with it a multitude of new features including song recording, the ability to upload your songs to SoundCloud and CoreMIDI support. PianoAngel is a great little piano app which is designed for people to learn to play the piano. It’s great for students, kids and beginners and it works on both iPhone and iPad (so it’s universal). If you haven’t already checked out PianoAngel you definitely should. My two year old son is already playing on this app and has a great time doing so every time (awwwww).
My buddy Greg over at MiniJack Music has posted a fantastic interview with the developer of the awesome drum machine app FunkBox. It’s in two parts and it’s definitely worth checking out if you haven’t already done so. Oh and if you haven’t already subscribed to MiniJacks RSS feed, please do so now…Don’t worry i’ll wait…
Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery is an awesome retro style adventure game (and so much more), that came out a few weeks ago for iPad. It’s seriously amazing. So is the sound track throughout the whole game. The good news is you can now buy the sound track separately in a number of formats from here.
Feel like remixing David Bowie? Yeah there’s an app for that…
Musikmesse is in full swing in Frankfurt right now. I’ll be sure to bring you any news about any iOS related gear and apps as soon as I hear about them. So far, it seems like Novation might be entering the app game with their V-Station. Read the full scoop here.
And lastly, my other buddy Sean over at iOS Musician (who you should also subscribe to), has informed me that the iConnectMIDI hardware has scored itself an Australian distributer! Why should i be excited about that you ask? Because I live in Sydney, thats why. I’ll be getting my paws on one of these units as soon as humanly possible to review it. If you don’t know what this bad boy is, check out their site for the full run down but basically it’s an ultra high speed iOS CoreMIDI compliant interface for your iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. Bang.
That’s all from me folks, back to the music!
